An ex-friend
TW: Suicide, depression
Out of sight, out of mind
Guess you’re busy with your life
But I still spend most of my nights
Thinking about suicide
We used to call
Every day
Eight hours at a time
But now I spend
Most of my days
Just like how I spend my nights
I’m depressed constantly
Drowning in sadness hourly
I’m still curled up here
And you still haven’t texted me
Waiting for a helpline to save me
Just like how you used to be
Out of sight, out of mind
Guess you’re busy with your life
But I still spend most of my nights
Thinking about suicide
You know
That it isn’t easy on me
After all that I did for you
I pulled at every thread
Trying to make you happy again
Lived my life scared to death
That you’d decide to leave instead
After all that I did for you
Why do you
Make it seem like you hate me
Out of your sight, out of your mind (or am I?)
Guess you’re busy with your life
But now I’m starting to think
I should get busy
With cutting you out of mine
Visit www.teenink.com/HealthResources if you or a loved one are feeling depressed or suicidal.
I wrote this about a friendship that's slowly falling apart due to lack of communication from the other side (it was largely one-sided).
