Lonely and I
Loneliness- a strange and deafening thing.
Sleeps beside me in the darkness, silent. Listens-
for the pause of my pulse while I’m breathing.
Utters lies and leaves them etched on my skin.
Loneliness- forces my tears down my throat
and trades me its shadows for my light.
I’ve nothing and no one but Lonely’s oath.
I’m praying you don’t - leave me lonely tonight.
You- with your blue eyes and soft smile, you’re kind
You- see me, say my name, like you know me
And I know you, you come from old hands, mine.
As long as I have you- lonely? I’ll never be.
Never tremble in my own flesh, in fear.
With pen -life- I’ll give, you won’t disappear.
