his heartbeat is easing
his breathing is slowing
today is the day
that he’s finally going
the water is rising
he’s sinking down deeper
tried keeping his find
lost the deal to the weeper
the ocean engulfs him
he’s swimming in peace
the waves wash him over
a rippling crease
his pain is no longer
he’s had his last breath
for all that he knows,
life is just lack of death
