The Darkness

Lying awake at nights, as the lights begin to fade, and I will fade away, it’s no longer safe to say, staring into the shadows, and standing in the shallows, the water pulls me in, I am not alone, hold me close, and never let me go, as the light dies, the night grows, I am losing hope, don’t leave me here alone, the shadows do me in, and the shallows pull me under, lying awake at nights, as the lights begin to fade, and I will fade away.
