When Will the Sun Rise
Verse 1
I'm caught in the darkness
Wandering blindly through space
Fear flashes through my mind
I can't remember your face
It used to be the light in the tunnel
But that tunnel's turned to a cave
My world crashed down around me
Trapped me inside this cold dark place
Chorus
When that bullet shattered your chest
It shattered my life
Replaced by a purple heart
When you made that sacrifice
Is it tears or is it rain
When I stumble across your name
In the black of night, on a stone of white
When will the sun rise? When will the sun rise?
Verse 2
Wind screaming through my ears
I think that I hear your voice
I'm hearing the echos of dreams and memories
Mindless noise
Everybody's lending a shoulder
But I only cry when I'm alone
How can they think they can fix anything
Sympathy won't bring him home
Chorus
Although my heart's stopped
The hurt keeps hurting on
Both love and sadness have no end
It hits me like a brick
Each time I see it
Date of birth to date of death
He was to young to come to an end
He was my best friend
Chorus
Alt. Chorus
What that bullet broke your heart
It broke mine too
Replaced by a purple one
But I'd rather have you
Through my tears I see your name
Next to a cross it lays engraved
In the black of night, on a stone of white
When will the sun rise? When will the sun rise?

Music has the power to heal, which is why this song is so powerful. It's about a woman who loses her husband in the war and how she deals with it. Some people think that you should know your husband could die at anytime because he volunteered to be a soldier, but you can't ever be prepared for the loss of your best friend. Also if you don't already know, the purple heart is given to those who show great heroism in the field, most often when that soldier loses his life.
