Friend-zoned for now
Roses are red, violets are blue,
Sometimes I sit here and just think about you.
Some roses are pink, others are white,
You don’t know this but I hate my life.
When we talk together I enjoy what you say,
It’s like I can sit here and talk all day.
But when the sky turns dark and the roses turn brown,
Another girl comes lurking around.
Roses are dead, the violets died too,
I know I don’t stand a chance against her for you.
And when the trickle of my tears flow on me,
Just make sure you love her and let me be.
My roses used to be red, violets used to be blue,
I trick myself to still love you.
Because after all the sadness, envy, emotional bends,
I guess we can always be friends.
And maybe if you do love me and change your mind,
Know that I will love you until the end of time.
