You're Seeing Her
I remember the first time I saw that face.
A million little stars lit up the whole place.
You smiled and you caught my eye,
And I was sure that I had died.
Cause I was in a dark place,
But through it, you shined.
All I think about is that night.
We talked as I fell in love at first sight.
And as I said goodbye,
You pulled me in like the tide.
And I felt young and wild and free.
But your all I could see.
One whole summer and we had it all.
Summer passed and then came fall.
Our time is running out.
And I can never have enough.
And my heart is as cold as the weather.
They say close your eyes and you'll see the one you love
And I'm seeing you, but you're seeing her.
A song came on, and I thought of you.
My head felt weak and my heart felt blue.
And I swore from that day on,
That I would make you mine.
Little did I know you were already gone.
To late to write our song.
I'm walking by lost in my head.
Thinking of all the words that I never said.
You call me over and my heart starts to pound,
Listening to the steady sound ,
Of your voice.
I didn’t have a choice.
And you say…
"One whole summer and we had it all.
Summer passed and then came fall.
Our time is running out.
And I can never have enough."
And my heart is as warm as the sun.
Then you say "Close your eyes and you'll see the one you love"
And I'm seeing you, but you're seeing her.
And all I wanted.
Was a chance.
I let it fall.
And summer passed.
And I finally got up the confidence to say all the words I'd been thinking,
But it didn't matter, because I wasn't the one you'd been missing.
So now, I think back on that night,
And I wish that you hadn't been the angel in my sight.
But when I close my eyes at night.
I'm seeing you…
And I still hope. But I know.
You're seeing her.
