Bittersweet
When I think of you
I remember many things
It’s a bittersweet feeling
but now it’s time to let go.
I remember when we were kids
playing and growing up
unaware and naive
Then our childhood faded away
and we were thrown into the world
When the world’s illusions ended
and only stark reality existed
You were gentle yes
and you meant well
But there were times you didn’t know
the hurt, tears and frustration I felt
Anger that I was hurting inside
but you were okay
My feelings never changed
but yours did
Sometimes the silence is so loud
but I understand
why things are like this
When I think of you
I remember many things
It’s a bittersweet feeling
but now it’s time to let go.
