To The People
I’d like to give a round of applause
To all my friends who stayed
To watch me die
I must have been quite a sight there
Cuts and dark rings around my eyes there
But you held on to hope
That I wouldn’t choke
On the darkness I was swallowing
That I would make it through
And return to you
The girl that you knew
I was wrong to get your hopes up
Tearful moments, you were choked up
At the thought that that the pills and the words
Were working
It was a lie
To say that I was alive
Haha, hehe
Look at me
The one thing that I want to see
Is the same thought that leaves you in agony
In agony
So let’s gather round here
And try to catch my tears
You know I love you dearly
So I’m hanging on, but barely
I’d like to give a round of applause
To all the people who tried to hold me down
A bottle of pills clutched in my hand
And you were hoping that I hadn’t already done the job
But one way or another I was done for
