One Last Lullaby
For years every night you before you went to sleep you’d sit down in my lap
Begging me to sing
But before the accident happened,
I made you one last lullaby
And I sang it to you earlier that night
I remember your eyes
Filled with happiness
So young so innocent
Stuck with pain and a fate worse than death
Now you’re gone
And I’m singing your lullaby
I’m trying not to cry
But the tears are spilling out
You’re not coming back not now
Miracles couldn’t cover this
I wish that the two cars would’ve missed
you’re the one that I miss the most
And I wish I could’ve sang you
One last lullaby
Parents going out late at night
For some reason you always were in a fright
When I came over when your parents were there
Once they left, you would jump into my arms
And beg me to sing a lullaby
Sometimes you were scared
Most times you were bruised
So young so innocent
Stuck with pain and a fate worse than death
Now you’re gone
And I’m singing your lullaby
I’m trying not to cry
But the tears are spilling out
You’re not coming back not now
Miracles couldn’t cover this
I wish the two cars would’ve missed
You’re the one that I miss the most
And I wish I could’ve sang you
one last lullaby
