Lick my Elbow
I see shades of grey
in my rainbow.
A line of haze
over my door.
I keep trying to
lick my elbow,
knowing I can’t but
I go back once more.
Can’t take no for an answer.
Can’t leave this lamp unlit.
Please take my gold, my frankincense, my myrrh,
and use it for Your benefit.
No, I can’t walk through walls
or on water.
Instead I fall
when I try to soar.
But I know that I
am Your daughter
and I can give You praise
with my face on the floor.
Nothing to fear
when my path isn’t clear.
Nothing to hide
with You on my side.
Nothing to lose
by spreading good news.
Can’t take no for an answer.
Can’t leave this lamp unlit.
Please take my gold, my frankincense, my myrrh,
and use it for Your benefit.
Use it for Your benefit.
Don’t leave this lamp unlit.
Use me for Your benefit.
