A Night of Shame
I was drunk,
a little high,
I saw stars,
in the sky.
Your head was as clear as the night.
At a disadvantage,
a little heavy handed,
you shoved another glass into my hand.
Downed it,
no I never stood a chance.
Got a little too messed up,
amongst so called "friends."
That's when he led her to the back room,
saying, "Girl, you gotta sleep."
She slurred, "No I don't want to."
He said, "Well then lie down next to me."
And the next thing you knew,
he was slipping that shirt over her head.
Her very first time too,
she didn't even feel herself slipping away in his bed...
And it's a shame.
Such a shame.
That guys with girlfriends,
Still party like they're single.
That girls say to their friends,
"I'm only going there to mingle."
And after too many sips,
who's there to pull that guy off her lips?
And after a few too many hits,
who's there to tell the lucky guy to call it quits?
It's a shame,
because tomorrow you won't call recall his first name.
Such a shame,
'Cause now she'll never be the same.
