Midnight Eclipse
Like the darkest nights o'er the northernmost forest
The queen of the earth stands in the shade
Forever strong, the ruler of the four corners of existence
Watching vigilant over the slumbering world
Into the shadows, into the woods
Where the warmth of sunlight never shines
The lasting ancient sanctuary of the wilderness
An oracle in time
The twelve full moons that circle
Quells the evil of the sun that goes far beyond its reach
The ancient grove deep within the earth
Reverence for the the greater deity of this plane
Earth, wind, air, fire
The barking of wolves in praise
As a black star rises over the distant mountains
She awakens
Lurking in the shade of creation
Shadows whispering her name
The spirit of the forest breathes again
Walking through the midnight eclipse
"Both beautiful and awful, a monster is unleashed
It scours the oceans, it scours the land
Glittering and belching smoke like a volcano
It conquers the hills, it devours the plains
It flies over chasms, then burrows
Into unkown caverns along deepest paths
To re-emerge, unconquerable
From shore to shore
It bellows out like a whirlwind" -Giosue Carducci
