Everybody's Always So F*cking Fine
Everybody's always so f*cking fine,
When you ask how someone is they say "fine"
It's a reflex, like blinking, not something that you can control
It's a horrible intention, a shattered piece of soul
And we are not always as fine as we seem
Oftentimes we're broken and falling apart at the seams
Everybody's always so f*cking fine,
But maybe that's a word that I should refine
When I say I'm fine,
I mean I'm bruised and battered and crying on the inside
You're one who knows me, don't fall for my pretenses:
When I say I'm fine, just knock down my defenses.
Everybody's always so f*cking fine
But I'm not fine, I need to be held and rocked to sleep at night
I'm hurt and lonely, and broken on the inside
Take my needs and complete them all in stride
Someday when you say you're fine
But you're broken on the inside too
I'll hold your hand and hug you tight
And tell you it will be alright
And I'll hold you and rock you to sleep at night
Because I know:
No one's ever really f*cking fine
