CHORUS1

Inside your body…. There is a cell, which makes up the beautiful person you are

But on closer inspection, your cells divide, and your perfect genes are never the same

This is known as DNA replication, where helicase splits your genes in two

There is a lagging strand and a leading, and then in comes the polymerase

RAP

The primase starts off the process

Laying down primer for the process to start

Putting new strands down the leading strand using some DNA polymerase

5 prime to 3 prime every day and every night

We got DNA on the lagging strand called Okazaki fragments

VERSE 1

A is tied to T

I hope it’s just like you and me

And then the C is next to G

I want you next to me

RAP 2

Baby you’re never never the same after the split

Messenger RNA is always the key to transcription

Adding new bases to the splitting strand

You be splicing out the introns

Your RNA is dividing the two of us and we’ll never be the same

VERSE 1

A is tied to  T

I hope it’s just like you and me

And the C is next to G

I want you next to me

CHORUS ½

Inside your body…. There is a cell, which makes up the beautiful person you are

But on closer inspection, your cells divide, and your perfect genes are never the same

INTERMISSION

Every night, you are hanging out, with a new ribosome in your cell

With 80s, and active sites, all wrapped around your new RNA

CHORUS 2/2

This is known as DNA replication, where helicase splits your genes in two

There is a lagging strand and a leading, and then in comes the polymerase

VERSE 2

Now it’s too late to go back2

Cause now you’re on to making proteins

There’s tRNA making chains, binding to sites with right codons

END

Inside your body...There is a cell, and it’s divided more than our futures
