I looked up and I felt the rain

As I shout and scream your name

I know that you do your best

But can't you help me numb this pain?

And you told me

"Leave the blame for the guilty

Shake it free from your shoulders"

But I know that my hands are also filthy

I have always believed

Now I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please

As these tears escape from my eyes

I finally realize

That it's over, I must rise

I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please

Protect them and guide them too

Light their way with your golden hue

One I've already lost

The other helps me through

Keep them happy and keep them safe

Even in a distant place

One is still here with me

The other now gazes upon your face

And you told me

"Leave the blame for the guilty

Shake it free from your shoulders"

But I know that my hands are also filthy

I have always believed

Now I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please

As these tears escape from my eyes

I finally realize

That it's over, I must rise

I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please

Send them my thoughts and send them my love

To the west and high above

Let them know that I'm still here

Let them know that I still love

I can't lose the one still here

I can't say goodbye to the one that's not

My plea to you is sincere

After all, it's my fault

And you told me

"Leave the blame for the guilty

Shake it free from your shoulders"

But I know that my hands are also filthy

I have always believed

Now I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please

As these tears escape from my eyes

I finally realize

That it's over, I must rise

I'm begging you here on my knees

I'm asking and praying, oh please
