Sympathy
I
Wake in red light
Think I'm outside
It is a recurring dream
Fear
Lead fills my lungs
Bones become dust
I hear my heart scream
You can keep your sympathy
It's just how I live
This is not a new thing for me
This is something I have to face on my own
Alone
Choke
On every word
That comes out my mouth insincere
Laugh
At me as I
Spill tears from my eyes like you never will
You can keep your sympathy
It tastes just like abuse
Don't tell me you understand
You are not the one inside my head
You wrap your pity around my throat
Your face your voice make me choke
You can keep your sympathy
It feels just like a noose
You can choke on your sympathy
Poorly masked bigotry

My entire life I have been pitied instead of helped. I needed to write it out.
