Coming Home
The journey has been awfully long
But along the way, I wrote this song
I’ve been thinking about it night and day
And I’ve been wondering about what to say
I’m hoping we can make it through
I’d trek it again just to be with you
But somewhere back there I guess I strayed
And I’ve been so lost out here, it’s the price I’ve paid
I’m lost out in this wilderness and you’re nowhere near
Unless I can find you I’m stranded alone out here
(Chorus)
I’ll climb the craggy mountains just to be with you
I’d sail the waters of the great wide oceans blue
I’ll journey the great forests and dangers it’ll hide
And I’ll walk the blazing deserts if it means I can be at your side
I don’t know where you are, and it scares me even more
And this rough landscape - or the pounding of my heart – has made me sore
But I can feel something out there
I swear I’ll find you, if the burden’s not too much to bear
I’m coming home, I’m coming home to you
And what I feel for you, is something I never knew
I know I let you down, and I broke your heart
But just say ‘yes’, and I promise we can restart
I swear that I’ll come find you my dear
Your voice calling me is all that I hear
(Chorus)
I’ll climb the craggy mountains just to be with you
I’d sail the waters of the great wide oceans blue
I’ll journey the great forests and dangers it’ll hide
And I’ll walk the blazing deserts if it means I can be at your side
And I’m coming to you, don’t you be afraid
I’m going to tell you how I feel, it’s a choice I’ve already made
Dear…I’m coming home to you
