I swallowed My Pride
Took a deep breath and swallowed my pride
No sense in trying to hide
I need help to make it through
Please don’t leave me, I begging you
I’m weak, my legs shake beneath the weight of self-hate
My pain drags me out and joy was the bait
Listening to the tender whisper of depression
Telling me to keep our relationship with discretion
The scorching flame of rage flickered wildly
The winds of change blew mildly
Forgetting how things felt, caused commotion
Adapting to new emotions
You think my love is delicate
My heart is desolate
Few things live there anymore
Fear, anger, and sadness at the core
If you're looking for damage you’ve hit the jackpot
An excessively see-through plot
Use me
Abuse me
Repeat.
But the kisses you give me after pain are sweet
Like ripe fruit, perfect at the time
But soon to be rotten after its prime
I swallowed my pride, took a deep breath
