Whispers
I hear the whispers all around
I hear the thunder
I’m going down
I feel my fingers touch the ground
I hear the water
I hear them drown
I hear their voices fill the air
I feel the choices that brought them there
I feel the part of me that I am bound
I hear the whispers all around
I hear the whispers all around
I hear them louder and I frown
I feel my fingers grasp a hand
I feel myself being drug down again
I feel the water closing in
I feel the coldness on my skin
I try, I fight, I hold my best
But I know it’s time to put myself to the test
I close my eyes no more sound
I know I have lost, I am down
I no longer hear the whispers all around
