Thoughts Among The Stars
I climbed a ladder to the stars
And left the earth below
Longing for a beauty
The world had never known
My burdens weren’t so heavy
I felt them float away
I found a place of peace
And knew that I would stay
Each day was filled with song
You couldn’t help but sing
Pain was never feared
For there was no such thing
My thoughts would rarely drift
To the life I’d known before
Why suffer on the ground
When you have the wings to soar?
But soon the song seemed endless
And I missed the days below
Where I watched the stars in silence
Enchanted by their glow
It seemed in this new world
The stars were not as bright
As if I needed darkness
To truly see their light
So I left the sky behind me
And learned to love the ground
For beauty means much more
When it must be found
