Autumn Changes

the crisp dying leaves
blow lazily at my feet
greetings at twilight
a glow in her eyes
blends of orange red and brown
stretch out my window
summer takes a nap
as winter stirs in its bed
an idle beauty
vegetation shows
its hidden fragility
a breeze chills the bones
brightness to darkness
leaves swirl in a protest to
the foreshadowed frost
