Snow in November
I was walking slow
Down the new subdivision
In late November.
I watched as a dog
Waited by the door inside
Tired of the mild cold.
That was when I saw,
Across the world before me,
A fine snowy sheet.
I was like the snow.
Slowly, I became your world
Unbeknownst to you.
But when you saw me -
Ev'rywhere - you balked and left
And regretted it.
You regretted it
As soon as that pane of glass
Seperated us.
But the snow still fell.
The heavens did not close up
Just because you left.
