Naive
How foolish was I
To believe that it was you
Who would be with me
To think that your hands
Would meet me at the aisle
Would slip on that ring
How I imagined
Your hand in mine, forever
Warmth on a cold day
You said you loved me
And now I can’t get that ring
Off quickly enough
Fresh tears on my cheek
We used to be forever
Now the world is gray
Now you have left me
Now I’m sobbing on the floor
And you never cried
Your hands’ in hers, now
And still I’ve yet to move on
I can’t forget you
