You touched me
and I felt my heart flutter
sputter and die
when you looked at her.
And I long to hate you
Hatred would be easier
maybe
if you stopped making me smile
what you did was brief but
infinitely disastrous
I would heal in time
if you failed to return
and unknowingly
reopen and salt my wounds
I'll never get better this way
So I had to leave
for other reasons as well but
mainly this
Do you know how hard it is for me to be around you?
Do you see the way I look at you?
Please, Please what?
Please prolong my bittersweet torture?
Please end it?
Your eyes and heart look elsewhere.
I long to snatch mine back - lock them away.
But they have forever been yours.
