Holding Back
I am tired of not right now,
Of holding horses,
Instead of letting them run.
I am tired of containing myself,
Restraining myself,
Not reaching my full potential,
Not pushing to be the best
Because being nobody is easier.
I am tired of not fighting for my rights,
Of not doing what needs to be done.
I have words thirsting to burst forth,
Thoughts screaming in an endless cycle.
Silent rage, eternal suffering,
Never changing,
Because I’m different.
