An Unaware Thief
Blues eyes that make my knees go weak
A smile that makes my heart skip a beat
These characteristics are owned by a man who is bittersweet
I wish he could promise me that he’ll never leave
Then my heart could finally be at ease
My choice would be clear as day
Maybe then I could say that you’ve always taken my breath away
But life never likes to go my way
I wouldn’t want our friendship to unweave
So for our last few months together I shall grit my teeth
And reframed from putting my heart on my sleeve
Hopefully, he will leave staying naive
Unaware that he has taken my heart like a thief
As I walk around smiling like I’m not incomplete
