Hold My Hand
Through the dark terrors of night,
I hold myself through shut eyes.
Thinking comforting thoughts,
I attempt to draw sleep out if it’s hiding cave.
The shadows from corners,
the wakefulness from fear,
and the desperation for light again,
I am there to hold my hand
I know morning will come,
all will be well,
And before the darkness,
I tell myself it will not last long.
Words, however, cannot trick me
I fear the irrational anyway,
And through the night,
I am there to hold my hand.

This is a sort of sequal to "I am the monster"
