A Poem
A Poem.
The dreaded word that all 8th graders despise,
but the teacher
Hopes,
Dreams,
AND
Wishes,
to inspire a love for poetry in the hearts of the students.
Untouched feelings waiting to be opened and heard;
deep inside the heart plays a melody
A melody that had once contained
Sorrow, Joy, Hate, or Love
Fear, Pride, Guilt, or Gratefulness.
Feelings trying to find a way to reach the surface,
and show the true feelings that are hidden in the darkness of the heart.
Reaching for the pen,
all of the emotions flow out, to create
A Poem.
Whether it be marvelous or atrocious,
bitter or ecstatic,
The true poem frolics inside the soul like a sheep in a field,
waiting for the right time to be set free and show its true self.
Where to find a poem?
That’s an easy question to answer.
- - It’s always been inside the soul, just waiting,
waiting for the right time to fly free from the darkness’ grasp.
Then, you will finally have
- - A Poem.
