I Should Know By Now

I shared
a hammock,
a night,
and
a kiss
with her,
but I should know
by now
that no matter
how much I love them
it doesn't stop
anyone
from leaving
me.
I shared
a blanket,
a store bought cookie,
and
a wooden bench
with her,
but I should know
by now
that love
means nothing,
especially when
they leave
anyways.
