That moment of concern that fills my head
I put on a mask to become a strong shoulder
I would sit and watch as you cried in bed
I say in my mind, “I just want to hold her”
Everything pulling you in a different direction
I see you in pain but I don’t know what to do
You look at my face, my worried complection
I want to help, I want to care for you
