The Future
Always there and never wandering
Never sleeps and never rests
Always reminding me of my eventual demise
Even when I am on the rise
It's always just out of my reach
Sucking me dry like a leach
While I toss and turn in bed it makes me think about things I said
When I awake it makes me wonder if one day there will be rain and thunder
Deserted cities may one day be serenity
The thought of "one day" makes me cry
Because on that day I might just die
