Humans
Our mouths speak words.
They are harsh,
They are kind.
They shout and they whisper
They care and they neglect.
People hear our words and repeat them.
Our mouths have power.
Power to be honest and true.
Our eyes sing songs.
Songs of struggle
Songs of love.
As people gaze into our eyes
They hear melodies.
And some people will sing along.
Our eyes have instruments.
Instruments to play beautiful songs.
Our scars tell stories.
Stories of courage,
Stories of weakness.
When people see our scars,
They can only imagine the pain.
They cannot feel it.
But they will try.
Our scars have character.
Characters that act in our stories.
Our legs climb mountains.
Mountains with rocks and roots,
Mountains with green grass and pink roses.
Our legs leap over hurdles
And fall gently into Earth’s lap.
People join us as our legs dance.
Our legs carry greatness.
Greatness that lives in every one of us.
Our bodies hold treasure.
Treasure greater than gold,
Treasures hidden deeper than the sea.
Our bodies hold magic
Magic that gleams through it all.
