Survivorship
They call me a survivor
What does that mean?
Surviving the demons inside my head
The hurricanes of despair
The tumultuous tide that never seems to ebb
Like a Sabine woman, abducted by my own thoughts
Never to return to my former state: irreparable
They say I am never alone
I hear the calls of me too
Over the loud, thumping thoughts in my head
They thump and crash and burn and beat against my skull
Their power is eternal while I am mortal
No one believed me, just like Cassandra
I am not a survivor; I am a hollow shell unable to close
