Your Daughter
Hey Mom.
Do you know why your daughter is so skinny?
I do.
Do you know why your daughter doesn't like to swim?
I do.
Do you know why your daughter has dark circles under her eyes?
I do.
Do you know why she doesn't talk as much as she used to?
I do.
Do you know that she is struggling with her identity?
I do.
Do you know that she hates herself?
I do.
Have you noticed that she doesn't like short sleeves anymore?
I have.
Have you noticed that she doesn't really have friends?
I have.
Have you noticed that she dresses like a boy?
I have.
Do you know that your daughter...might not actually be your daughter?
I do.
But I'm too afraid to ask you what you think about me, because what if your answer is...
"I don't."

This is about me and my fear that no one notices if I'm okay. If you are depressed, suicidal, a self-harmer, or anything else, please comment on this. If you ever need to talk, I'm here.
