The Virus
The words leave her lips
And dance around in the air before reaching my ears
Words that don’t deserve to be dancing around in the air
Words that are going to change my life forever
It grows larger
Becomes more powerful with each breath she takes
It suffocates her insides and leaves her weak
She loses her hair and becomes pale and thin
Weakly trips to Boston become the norm
It'll be okay she says
With an unconvincing look smeared across her face
Being the strong women she is
She tries to keep it together for the people who look up to her the most in life
her children
She cries herself to sleep every night
As the sickness takes over
Everything goes dark.
