My Universe
Your eyes echo the stars,
Twinkling in the dark
And flickering through the night.
Moving back and forth,
Taking in the beauty of life,
Absorbing my emotions.
Your hands encapsulate my being
And your voice hypnotizes my body,
Making my knees weak
And causing me to fall into your arms.
The cool embrace of the moment
Sends chills down my core,
So I bury myself deeper into your warmth.
I lament “you deserve the galaxy,”
“But I am am just one star.”
Your response lifts my feet off the ground:
“Yet somehow, you are my whole universe.”
Our hearts collide,
Dancing together through the milky skies
And rejoice in the union of expression.
