Sledding down a hill
Is such a thrill!
I walk through crunching snow
Their white, milky surfaces glow!
Glow, through sunlight
Filtered through height
The breeze remains thick
Its frost bites me; up to its trick
Of warning me to stay away
And not enjoy this fun day
I march up, up towards hill sloping
Down paths; coping
Through the harsh wind
Once on the hill, my body rests
Through the doughnut-shaped sled’s crests
Of rubber-infused coating
I gingerly push my feet
Off like rapid heat
Before I know it, I’m flying!
Flying, through the whitened snow; gliding
My legs remain stiff as I glide past
Stilled in their position as if wrapped in a cast
Snow wipes past the ground
Like a car’s windshield wipers; swirling around
Suddenly, an impact occurs, a softened WHOOSH!
I fall off; my body hitting the ground as if pushed
My head feels strange; hurting and blinking
From the dizziness sinking
With an effort, I get up; walking towards
The sled; lying gently with no sores
Of dizziness
My fingers numbly grip at the sled
I walk towards home; safe and led
