Pulled Petals

Do you know
how many flowers
have lost their petals
because of how confusing
your words
and actions
were to me?
As I thought
“Loves me?
Loves me not?”
I should have known
that I was destroying things
that could’ve grown.
I pulled those
flowers down
when I let myself
drown
with the idea
of you.
And I know
that you
would’ve said
that those flowers
were already
dead.
