Revolution Dreaming
So this is where my revolution dreamin’ got me
Cold steel wrapped ‘round my wrists
Iron bars divide my once-familiar face
Orange never did look good on me
My court date’s set
Ain’t no revolutionaries left
Yeah, I did it, didn’t I?
I’m a full-on rebel with no cause
Fighting wars I don’t understand
Staying up late
Don’t got any plans
Shake their heads in disappointment
Listen buddy, I didn’t do it for your entertainment
So don’t laugh at what I do
I don’t do it to amuse you
I do it ‘cause I have to
Blue and white
Cuts through the night
Go ahead an’ tell me, what’s my crime?
Guess I’m doin’ time
Never thought that this is where my rebel dreamin’ would get me
Pack me off to jail
Put my story up for sale
I don’t regret it, never will
Even after all them pills
But damn, I wish I’d learned my lesson
This cell is cold
I’ll be here another year
At least that’s what I’m told
Turned me bitter
I don’t need no babysitter
So this is where my revolution dreamin’ got me

This is a piece about my own life and how being a rebel never got me anywhere. Although, it did give me a lot of laughs and amazing stories.
