Where I'm from
I am from an auger gashing open my foot
there are the muddy walks in the woods
there are hot sweaty days on the boat
there were nicknames Joe Bear and Big Boy
their was the phrase “Rub some dirt on it.”
there is D and D “desire and determination”
I am from a house back in a neighborhood surrounded by woods
the tree fort that is home to airsoft and paintball wars
the small river which fish were caught in the millions
the broken down house which looked like a bomb shelter
the enclosed tree house called home to times
I am from the drive to hunt and fish
to wake surf on the almost glass like water
to be on the boat in the scorching sun and cool water
to move from the large fantasy woods to the lake I call home
the trips up north to great fishing and days on the lake
