the sun’s rays of light shine across the ground
penetrating the brisk, autumn air
a thin layer of frost has crystallized everything
windshields
blades of grass
newly fallen red, brown, and orange leaves
covered with a light, frozen glaze
a breeze
the ruffling of trees
scent of dead leaves
fill the the air
pumpkins on every doorstep
ghoulish decorations galore
October.
