I dreamt in black and white
I dreamt in black and white
for that was all i saw
my eyes were the darkest black
and my skin was the lightest white
my world was a void
a black hole i was stuck in
watching the stars set
and the moon go by
the emptiness was my friend
like the shadows that crept in
until one day
when i discovered a place called you
you had the sun in your eyes
and the light in your hair
from the orange to the pink
to the very dark blue
i kept watching myself fall in love with you.
your lips were my red
and your eyes were my gold
colors i've never seen before
revealed their true form
i dreamt in all color
for that is what you are
my eyes are a brown
and my skin a pale tan
you taught me a world of color
and that i was not alone
for when the stars set
and the moon go by
I'm not not alone in the dark
i have my own new light.
