Masquerade
She drowned in a river while the sun reflected its beautiful colors across the barren earth. Her pockets were filled with rocks and weighed down by memories. She felt a magnetic pull urging her to wade into the tide of tears shed over lost dreams and empty hope. This river was a chronicle of all ages, of all the dust and ashes so generously left behind by the human race. She would follow this river, and it would follow her, over the stones and branches, through the wooded pines and ghost cities, all the way to the elysium.
