how to feel beautiful
look at a mirror,
Start with eyes
Everyone has beautiful eyes
Noting the hazels dulled with soft browns
The lashes, dotting over my vision
they are lovely eyebrows, apparently that’s the new thing
They aren’t too small, or you couldn’t see
If they are crooked, nobody cares but me
Cheeks that have bones that everyone wants
But I never thought looked good
Lips that are thin
But still look sexy if bit
Arms that are big
so big
they lift anything I need them too
My waist doesn’t curve like that
It pokes in at the side and the pokes right out
Nor is it flat, and I can’t see bones
I guess I’m not supposed to
I find pride in the calluses on feet
I’ve built up over years
Desperate for any reason to not wear shoes
find happiness in my body which can move
capable of doing what I ask it too
Looking at myself as art
As something which holds me
Which contains myself
I am of value outside this shell
I am a thing of beauty
