The Storm Hits
It was early November when it hit
We only felt the wind
Before it was upon us
It showed us no mercy
We never stood a chance
The skies are crying
And now so are we
At first we danced in the streets
Grins stretched wide
That was before we realised
It was not our saving grace
But the angel of death
Suddenly
We were blinded by the onslaught
Swept away and torn apart
By the flood
Now I sit here alone
Trembling and wet
Is this what you wanted
When you grabbed me by the hand
And pulled me out the door behind you?
Before it was upon us
We only felt the wind
It was early November when it hit
