You are the sky when it is filled with stars
You are the new moon’s eyes
You are the wildflowers on the side of the highway
You are not the trash on the side of the highway
Neither of us are the trash on the side of the highway
You are the giddiness
The warm intention of a hug
You are the complicated equations
You are ambitions

You are not the white sky of winter filled with cold
You are not the shifting gaze
You are not the rough tide stealing the sand
You are the tidepools left behind
We are both the life inside of them
You are not the absence
You are not the ice in my chest
You are not misunderstanding
You are not indifference
