A DAUGHTER'S PRAYERS
A little girl held her mother's hand
And took little steps to reach the balcony,
She wished if a fairy with a wand
Could give her some happiness from the agony;
The girl reached the open balcony
With her mother by her side,
She prayed to the Almighty-
"Please keep my father alright."
Her mother's eyes filled with tears
She sat on her knees by her daughter-
Concealed her agony with fake cheers,
And made some laugh with her daughter;
The mother hugged her daughter tight,
And kissed her on her forehead-
Assured that her father would return alright
And all of their agony would fade;
The little girl didn't speak a word-
And slowly turned to return back from the balcony,
She spoke softly,"My Daddy wasn't a coward-
He fought for the country and now would never return alive,
But he'll always remain alive in the memories of us, nation and the army.........."
