Who said?
Who said the madness was truly over?
Who said that the mess
Inside
Is only temporary?
Who said that you'd never fall,
Scrape your knees,
Or get a bump or bruise
Here or there?
Who said that the anxiety
Isn't a constant struggle?
Or that self image 'problem'
Was only a matter
Of attitude
And not the fault of a faulty society?
Who said that most recent beauty standards
Are the only things that can make you beautiful?
Who said that
You are imperfect
Because
You dare to be different?
Who said that
Words cannot hurt?
I must know because I'm bleeding from wounds
Made by the pen and mouth.
Who said that
You
Are
Less
Human
Than
Others
Because
You
Are
Unique?
Who said those terrible things?
Because they are lies!
