Poison Weeds
You have been the weed in my garden for too long
Poisonous and ugly
Infectious to my growing floral portrait
You have thorns and stick to my hands when
I try and rip you away
So I avoid it
Plant more beauty around you
Hoping this distraction is enough but you’re a parasite to every living thing
One day I wrap my hand around you, ignoring the thorns and the barbs clinging
I wrenched you out of the soil
But nothing grows there anymore.
